About Tehri Dam

Tehri dam is made of multipurpose rock, and 855 feet of Earth fill. This is an embankment dam and is built on the Bhagirathi River. It is situated near Tehri Garhwal Uttarakhand state.

In 2006, The Tehri Hydroelectric Complex phase 1 was started. It is an important source of electricity. Additionally, many human settlements in Uttarakhand strive for the ample water supply of Tehri Reservoir. Paragliding is an aerial adventure that involves flying on a foot-launched fixed-wing aircraft. The pilot has to steer around, and the aircraft is made of nylon cloth. For safety, the pilot is harnessed to parachutes that have aerodynamic structures that let them glide in the air. It’s a beautiful experience.

Jet skiing is a water sport which involves riding a high-speed Jet Ski. This bike can run on the water. It is one of the major sporting attractions at Tehri.

Banana Boat Ride is also called a hot dog ride. It is another water sport available at Tehri Lake. It involves a group of people riding an inflatable board that has the shape of a banana. This board is dragged around by a motorboat or a Jet Ski. And just when you think that the ride is done and you will now climb out at the end of the ride, you are thrown overboard in the water.
