Nag Tibba Trek – A Trek to explore in Weekends
Nag Tibba located in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan region of Uttarakhand and it is on the north-east of Mussoorie. It is on the highest peak with an altitude of 3,022 meters. It is also called Serpent’s peak means ‘Nagin ki choti’. Local villagers believed that it is the home of ‘Nag Devta’. Everyday villagers go to the peak and pray to Snake God to protect their animal from snake bites. This place is frequently visited by large number of trekkers and adventure lovers for its beauty and high elevation. Nag Tibba trek distance is 15 Km and it is easy to moderate. The temperature varies 14 to 22 degrees (days) and 6 to 14 degrees (night) between September and December and 16 to 25 degrees (days) and 8 to 16 degrees (nights) during other months. From Nag Tibba trekkers enjoy to view various other peak, Kedarnath peak in the north, Doon Valley, and the snow peak of Chanabang etc.

Schedule for Nag Tibba Trek
Day 1 : Drive to Pantwari & trek to Nag Mandir
Reach Dehradun in the morning, take a cab to Pantwari, from Pantwari drive on the dusty road which is also motor able for 3Kms where the camping site is an hour away. Take the blessings of Nag Devta when you reach the temple. Stay in forests in your tent at night. You can also rent the tents near forest area.
Day 2 : Nag Mandir to Nag Tibba Top
Start early trek to Nag Tibba Top, it is mostly vertical uphill climb. You will see the views only in the last one hour of trek before the peak. You will reach the peak by noon. If you spend an hour only at peak it is very hard to reach Pantwari before sunset. In the afternoon it is very difficult to stay there because of hazy weather and you will not see any view from there. You will also see Himalayas view and nmanda Devi View from the peak.
Day 3 : Nag Tibba top & Drive back to Dehradun Bus Stand
Before sunset you can come to Pantwari, from Pantwari you catch a cab and reach Dehradun late at night.
Nag Tibba Trek: Best time to Trek
The best time to visit Nag Tibba Trek is on the summer months, from April to June and the winter months, from October to December. Those travellers who wants to visit Nag Tibba and Chopta in winters and wants to see heavy snowfall and to do trekking in snowfall the best month for them is January to March. In summers you will see pleasant Himalayas view in the morning and the night would be colder. In winters you will see snow capped heavy mountains in the morning and nights would be freezing. In Monsoon you will experience lush greenery view in mornings and night would be rainy. Remember to carry raincoats in monsoons.

Pantwari Village – Pantwari village is in Dhanaulti in Tehri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand. It is also base camp for Nag Tibba Trek. Pantwari has few shops, guesthouses and home stay options for night stay if the tourists want the home stay option rather than stay in campsite so they take guesthouses at Pantwari then resumes their trek to Nag Tibba.
Mussoorie – Mussoorie is a hill station in the Dehradun District of Uttarakhand. The hill station is in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. It is the best and easiest destination for tourists. People from Delhi, Chandigarh and many other places come here for long weekends. Market of Mussoorie is very famous. Dhanaulti – Dhanaulti is a hill station situated in the foothills of Garhwal Himalayan range and it is 24 Km from the Mussoorie. It is a very peaceful place tourists visited Dhanaulti Eco Park when they come to Mussoorie. It is very famous park for kids and for everyone. Food stalls and Corn stalls are available outside the park for everyone. It is a very good employment opportunity for Dhanaulti people to sell foods in stalls outside the park. It is a weekend getaway from Delhi. As Mussoorie has become crowded, many tourists love to spend some peaceful time in Dhanaulti.
